Our Hundred Islands Getaway

Last week, my office friends and I traveled to Hundred Islands located in Alaminos, Pangasinan. The islands could really capture your heart with its placement, unique rock formations, unique characteristics and clean surroundings. Each can offer you different activities so whether you're a dare-devil at heart or not, you'll definitely say that everything here is worth your penny.

During our stay in Alaminos, we stayed at Veronica Hauschild Transient House. Transient Houses are common here so rent away if you will stay for a few days. They're cheap, group-friendly and some comes with free wi-fi.

Before we start the day, we first had some group and candid shots.

The beach is just steps away from the house so we had no problems when it came to other transportation. When we arrived the shore, what we saw first are boats. These boats were our only source of transportation on our island hopping. Unless you want to swim. Then good luck, friend.

The boat ride on the way to our first island is quite long but, that doesn't even matter as long as you see great views of islands and rock formations right? Here's a glimpse so you'll know what I'm talking about. Having my friends with me on the boat were also a help.

We are with one of the island owners. LOL. Just kidding. Mike looks like one though!

Stepping on and off the boat is a hassle at first. Don't worry, they will surely assist you. I promise you, at the end of the day, you'll be the master of boat hopping. Cross my heart.

Before we got to see the extraordinary view of the islands, we must first endure the hassle of going up a hundred or more steps to the top. So don't stop and strive because you know what they say, pag may tyaga, may nilaga! (hard work has its rewards). Take pictures as many as you want once your on top. But please, don't be selfish. There are also other people who are waiting for you. Be sensitive.  If you want to take more pictures then wait for them, then once they're finish then go take some again.

Some of us had a ride on zip lines so we just enjoyed the view and the fresh air beside the shore. We also had a chance to have our pictures taken with Manny Pacquiao look-alike. Apl de Ap, Mr. Bean and Nicki Minaj's  look-alikes are also there! Here's me with Manny Pacquiao.

After Governor's Island, we hopped in to Marcos's Island. We had our cliff diving and first snorkeling here.

Along the way, we encountered more unique rock formations and more island views.

Can you guess what island is this? If you guessed Turtle Island, then you're definitely correct!

I haven't got to take pictures on Marcos's Island because I cliff jumped and swim till we need to arrive at our next destination. The next destination is between Lopez Island and New Scout Island. We had our helmet diving and snorkeling here. The helmet diving is fun! But if you're going to ask me, snorkeling is more fun. Have you seen the corals in the movie, Finding Nemo? If yes, then the corals here are much like those in Finiding Nemo. The corals are a mixture of red, green, blue, yellow and many more. The oysters are also big. I may say it can swallow a whole human!

Helmet Diving here is cheap. We got to experience it with only PHP300. They say in Boracay it costs around PHP700 not including the photos. But here, they will ask you for your memory card then their GoPro will be used for the underwater shots. Wanna know what's cooler than that? It's totally free!

The last stop is at Quezon Island. Why not relax after a tiring day. We placed some picnic mats along the shore and watched people and children swim by the beach. Some are grilling food and some are enjoying just like us. My colleague's son made a simple sand sculpture saying "I love 100 islands". We had our photos taken because why not? It's totally amazing.

The day is really tiring but worth it. We haven't got to Children's Island because we chose to end the island hopping. Children's island is also like Quezon Island, you can swim and relax on the shore. We arrived the boat dock before sunset with a smile on our faces.

A day is enough to enjoy Hundred Islands. So if you're looking for a quick getaway with your family and friends, consider this place. It's totally worth it.

  2. Woohoo, sounds like a lot of fun! Haven't hit the beach yet (scheduled on a latter date..) and haven't been to hundred islands yet (such a shame!).

2500 isn't so bad, considering that you guys were able to explore the whole place and all! :)

    1. Go there! I love it. It's my first time there actually so it's never too late! I've never thought it would be much more fun than beach bumming.
